RETREAT AT SCHOENSTATT INTERNATIONAL CENTER, WAUKESHA, WISCONSIN

Schoenstatt is a movement for leaders. It was founded by the Holy Priest, Rev. Joseph Kentenich in 1914. The movement has a mission of helping Catholics to live a life of daily sanctity. The movement has devotions to the Blessed Virgin Mary under the title, "Mother Thrice Admirable." The source of life for the movement is the Shrine of Mary. There are hundreds of these shrines across the different parts of the world. These shrines are places of graces, where Mary continues to work miracles of graces.

I want to share with you some of my pictures during my retreat at the Schoenstatt Center in Waukesha. During my time at Waukesha, I also visited the Schoenstatt shrine in Milwaukee. Being a child of the Covenant of Love with Mater Ter Admirabilis, it was an opportunity for me to renew my covenant with the Blessed Mother.

THE PHILOSOPHER'S PATH

Fr. Joseph Kentenich walked through this part many times during the fourteen holy years he lived in Milwaukee. He always walked with his guests or directees on this path as he gives them good counsel. At the end of the path is the Shrine of Mother Thrice Admirable.

The Mother Thrice Admirable Shrine

This is the inside of the Mother Thrice Admirable Shrine. In the wooden carving is the big picture of the Mother Thrice Admirable. Below the picture is the Unity Cross. This Cross which is original to the Schoenstatt Movement, originated in Chile. It has Mary by the side of Jesus on the Cross. Below the Unity Cross is the tarbenacle with Jesus Christ reserved.

RECTORY FR. KENTENICH LIVED

This was the rectory Fr. Kentenich lived during his fourteen years in Milwaukee. The large window close to the staircase was part of his room and office. From this window he watched daily the construction of the Shrine. There is a wonderful view of the Shrine from this window.

SHRINE IN WAUKESHA

This is the Shrine at the Schoenstatt International Center in Waukesha. Over 30 Schoenstatt Sisters pray at this Shrine daily. Most times of the day, there is exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. During my retreat, I was the deacon at the Mass in this Shrine daily with Fr. Carlos Rojas who wwas also here on retreat. This is the best retreat facility I have been at. It is A++++.
